mentoring young design talent
Forever New are thrilled to award two recipients in 2015 as part of our coveted RMIT Scholarship Program, final year design students Amber Reese and Lauren Trend.
The Forever New Scholarship awards both Amber and Lauren a 12-month employment contract at Forever New after completion of their final year of studies. Each student will receive AUD$20,000 towards their university fees and expenses, in addition to an overseas trend research trip with the senior creative team during their first year of employment.
2014 winner Anna Pipkorn currently holds the position of Assistant Designer at Forever New and is soon to embark on her trip to Paris with the creative team.
“I feel extremely privileged to have come into my first job at such a wonderful company, with a team who make every day inspiring,” says Anna. “In such a big company I find it incredible how all departments and teams work collaboratively to create amazing outcomes. The company is exciting and fast paced, we are constantly working on new designs, looking for inspiration and developing new fabrics and ideas.”
In addition to Anna's daily design input with the team, she is also working on her own Forever New capsule collection that will launch in stores later this year.

This innovative scholarship program aims to reward and encourage design students to pursue a career in fashion retail, and was the initiative of our founder, Amanda Coote. "This scholarship is the realisation of a dream, and we are thrilled to collaborate with RMIT, a leading university in this field of study" Amanda said. "The fashion business in Australia is more competitive than ever, and we recognise that young aspiring designers in our local community need industry mentoring and more opportunities. RMIT is known for producing world class fashion talent and we are so excited to be supporting the next generation of designers" The Forever New Scholarship will be awarded annually to one RMIT student on completion of their third year, with their fourth and final year ahead. It includes $20,000 towards university fees, a coveted 12 month position in the design team at Forever New upon graduation and an inspirational buying and research trip to Paris. The recipient of the scholarship will also be invited to design a capsule collection in collaboration with Forever New.
